Oral rehabilitation is the branch of dentistry responsible to restore form, function and esthetics of broken or missing teeth, designed to replace teeth or missing teeth in order to improve chewing, speech and esthetics.
Removable Prostheses (Dentures)
The removable prostheses are those which the patient can remove from the mouth when desired (metal with acrylic partial and natural dental color denture).
Fixed Prostheses (Dental Bridges)
The fixed prostheses are those that cannot be removed by the patient, it is being adhered and supported by pillars as own teeth or dental implants. It is what is commonly known as dental bridge.
Bruxism
The most common treatment to prevent bruxism is a bite ferrule. This prevents tightening or grit teeth, causing attrition and pain.
La rehabilitación oral es la rama de la odontología encargada de restaurar forma, función y estética del paciente que presenta destrucción o ausencia de dientes, son tratamientos para reponer los dientes o muelas ausentes con el fin de mejorar la masticación, el habla y la estética.
Prótesis removibles
Las prótesis removibles son aquellas que el paciente puede sacar de la boca cuando lo requiere (chapas de metal con acrílico y dientes del color natural de la dentadura).
Protesis Fija
Las prótesis fijas son aquellas que no pueden ser retiradas por el paciente, estando adheridas y soportadas por pilares como los propios dientes, o los implantes dentales. Es lo que habitualmente se conoce como puente dental.
Bruxismo
El tratamiento más frecuente para evitar el bruxismo es una férula de descarga. Esto evita que apriete o rechine los dientes, lo que provoca desgaste y dolor.
